Neurology Guidelines

A neurologic disorder is caused by a dysfunction in the brain, spinal cord, and/or nerves. Neurological dysfunction can precipitate physical and psychological symptoms. Symptoms are often associated with the specific area within the nervous system where damage or disease occurs. Associated symptoms can affect: physical movement, perception of sensation, ability to effectively communicate, visual clarity, ability to hear sounds and differentiate tone, ability to cognitively problem-solve and demonstrate emotional stability.

Neurologic disorders are wide ranging and the result of various causes, complications, and outcomes. Many of these conditions require life-long management.
