Musculoskeletal Guidelines

The musculoskeletal disorders affect the bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. Pain, numbness, and loss of function are all common complaints from patients with musculoskeletal disorders. Musculoskeletal disorders are often the result of injuries or disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

Musculoskeletal conditions are typically characterized by pain (often persistent) and accompanied by limitations in physical mobility and dexterity, reducing the patient’s ability to work and participate in society. Pain experienced in musculoskeletal structures is the most common form of non-cancer pain.
